2019 Who Went Where Survey

Each spring, DocSIG surveys students who are in the job-seeking stage of their doctoral programs. Based on their responses, we compile a report that describes the current job market.

The 2019 WWW survey is out! We request all students in the job-seeking stage of their doctoral programs to complete the survey!

2019 Survey link: https://kent.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0jridsE2zdeclwh

This year we are encouraging all candidates who were on the job market regardless of the current status of their job search process to participate in this survey. Please consider finishing the survey even if you have not yet received a job offer, not yet accepted a job offer, or even if you have accepted a non-academic job offer. It will give future candidates a better idea of what to expect.

The official 2019 announcement is as follows:

“Dear Marketing Doctoral Candidate/Graduate,

Thank you for considering being a part of this year’s Who Went Where? (WWW) survey. We are excited to be a part of this time of transition and new opportunity in your career. This report has become instrumental in guiding new job candidates in the job-search process and your participation is an essential part of understanding of the marketplace. Participation in this survey is voluntary and should take about 15 minutes. Thank you for taking the time to share details about your job-search experience with your colleagues.

There are two parts to this survey. First, you will be asked to report your name, Ph.D. granting institution, and academic hiring institution. Your name and schools will be listed in the 2019 WWW report to let your colleagues know where you are headed in the fall.

The second part of the survey involves a series of questions about salary, tenure requirements, publications, and job search information. Your responses to these questions will not be associated with your name or institutions. These responses will be reported in aggregate.

Thank you again for your participation.

All the best,

2019 Mathew Joseph Emerging Scholar Award – Announcement

Mathew Joseph Emerging Scholar Award Winner 2019

AMA DocSIG is pleased to announce that Unnati Narang, from the Texas A&M University, has been awarded the 2019 Mathew Joseph Emerging Scholar Award! Dr. Mathew Joseph honors a doctoral student who has displayed exemplary holistic scholarship and exhibits a bright future in the academic discipline. It is a large honor for the selected doctoral student. The faculty judges look for a top emerging PhD student who holistically has the influence and abilities to become a great scholar in marketing. This year, however, due to the number of amazing applicants, we are also awarding one finalist. Jillian Hmurovic, from the University of Pittsburg, has been awarded as the finalist for the Mathew Joseph Emerging Scholar Award!

Marketing scholar judges evaluated all of the candidate submissions. The awards will be presented at the Summer Educators’ Conference in Chicago this August.

Please stay tuned to the DocSIG website, Facebook, and Twitter for details on how to apply for the Mathew Joseph Emerging Scholar Award in 2020. Congratulations to the winner and finalist!
