2024 Who-Went-Where Survey Results Are Here!
For the past 22 years, AMA DocSIG has been committed to providing valuable insights into the academic job market for doctoral students. Our annual surveys are crucial tools that not only aid tenure letter writers but also promote transparency, helping to break down systemic barriers for marginalized groups in the job market.
The 2023-24 report, reflecting the decentralized Post-Covid market, offers some variations from previous years, providing a comprehensive view of the evolving academic landscape.
This yearโs survey was conducted in two parts:
1. Part 1: Collected basic information such as candidate names and institutions.
2. Part 2: Anonymously gathered data on job market experiences, teaching, publications, and salary details. We reached out to participants through AMA DocSIG, ELMAR listservs, and social media platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn. If your institution wasnโt contacted, please help us by providing your marketing departmentโs doctoral program coordinatorโs contact information at docsig.ama@gmail.com.
Special thanks to Reza Pedarpour and Gang Yi from Kent State University for designing and administering the survey, and to our dedicated volunteer review team for their ongoing efforts to enhance the Who Went Where (WWW) survey and report.
This report was published under the leadership of our immediate past president, Brittany Beck.
Congratulations to all the new Assistant Professors starting their roles in Fall 2024!
For any questions, feel free to reach out to us directly at docsig.ama@gmail.com.
