AMA DocSIG Webinar | Mastering the Quantitative Marketing/Empirical Track: A Roadmap for PhD students with Dr. Adithya (Adi) Pattabhiramaiah

Interested in or currently conducting Quantitative Marketing/Empirical research? This webinar is for you!

Quantitative marketing applies rigorous empirical methods to study how consumers, firms, and markets behave. Drawing on economics, econometrics, statistics, and computer science, researchers explore consumer choice, pricing, advertising, competition, platform strategy, and more. This work often leverages large-scale and increasingly unstructured data, along with field experiments, structural modeling, and advanced techniques such as machine learning and high-dimensional statistics, to generate insights that are both theoretically grounded and managerially relevant.

In this webinar, we’ll break down what it means to do research in marketing strategy, how to start building your research identity, and how to navigate publishing, conferences, and the job market. Whether you’re just starting your PhD or already working on your dissertation, this session is a chance to ask questions, explore the field, and imagine what a career in strategy research can look like.
