We invite you all to a social reception in collaboration with the SUSTSIG. As a standing tradition, we welcome all doctoral students and scholars interested in sustainable and innovation research for drinks and fingerfood. Here, we will also honor Jason Lin as recipient and Sushma Kambagowni as Runner-Up for the 2025 DocSIG “Mathew Joseph” Emerging Scholar Award. Please join us in congratulating them.

Saturday, 11.15 AM – 12.15 PM Reflections on the 24-25 Job Market and Outlook for 25-26
Julia van de Sandt and Reza Pedarpour will present findings from this year’s Who Went Where report and discuss how we overhauled the report based on the feedback you all provided us. We will also present trends for the 25-26 job market which we identified through our job market webinar series. Lastly, we’ll welcome Dr. Sina Aghaie, founder of the ranking tool MKTBig15, who will demonstrate the application of the ranking tool for better job market package preparation: “Smarter Job Market Prep: Using MKTBig15 to Find the Right Fit and Position Yourself Effectively”

  • Tailor cover letters by aligning with faculty research themes and publication records.
  • Identifying a schoolโ€™s research identity using journal outlets and article titles.
  • Assess the value placed on journals beyond the FT50 by target schools, including recognition of ABDC A* publications.
  • Explore department productivity to find the right institutional fit for your research focus.

AMA DocSIG is excited to reintroduce a dedicated doctoral pre-conference in response to the high demand for mentoring and peer-networking opportunities among PhD students at SummerAMA in Chicago this August. We aim to provide PhD students with robust support as they navigate coursework, develop dissertation ideas, prepare for the job market, and transition into their academic careers.

Track 1: Early PhD Years: Focus on coursework, forming a dissertation topic, and building a strong research pipeline.
