AMA DocSIG Mentorship Award

AMA DocSIG is very proud to announce the establishment of the AMA DocSIG Mentorship Award. This Award recognizes a faculty mentor that has consistently demonstrated support to marketing doctoral students and the AMA DocSIG mission.

The recipient of the Inaugural 2019 AMA DocSIG Mentorship Award is Dr. Mathew Joseph. Dr. Joseph was recognized at the 2019 Summer AMA DocSIG Special Session.

Dr. Mathew Joseph is the Emil Jurica Distinguished Professor of Marketing at St. Mary’s University. He has published over one hundred journal articles and refereed conference papers, and serves on the Editorial Board of several leading journals. His current research interests include customer satisfaction with digital media, decision-making process in complex organizations, and social media and brand identity. He is the Past President for the Society for Marketing Advances and is currently the Vice President for the AMA’s Marketing for Higher Education SIG.

Dr. Joseph is an avid supporter of doctoral education and a frequent contributor to the AMA’s Doctoral Consortium. Dr. Joseph sponsors the AMA DocSIG Mathew Joseph Emerging Scholar Award, which annually recognizes an outstanding Marketing doctoral student. Since he started sponsoring this award in 2014, eight students (six winners and two finalists) have received this recognition. Additionally, through his leadership role at AMA’s Higher Ed SIG, he continues to support AMA DocSIG’s mission by sponsoring a dinner at every Summer AMA, something that he has been doing for over 10 years now.

Thank you Dr. Mathew Joseph. We are eternally grateful for your positive influence, your support, and your desire to recognize doctoral student achievement.
